Kyu Shin Kan have officially left the UKA as one of their Houses. Peter Brown Shihan has decided to keep a connection with them as an aphiliate dojo As students, this will have no bearing, as training the way that we do will continue to progress in the direction we are already heading. BEGINNERS
Beginners are always welcome to any of our DOJO. Please turn up, ready to start class at least 5 minutes beore the start time. If you are a Beginner, and have no Keikogi (the white uniform worn for practice), please wear something comfortable to train in, such as tracksuit bottoms and T-Shirt/Hoodie. DO NOT WEAR JEWELLERY or WATCHES, etc, during training. PLEASE CHECK OUR CLASSES PAGE FOR MORE INFORMATION, REGARDING TIMES,PRICES, ETC
ABOUT AIKIDO DERBY
BEGINNERS, AS WELL AS STUDENTS FROM OTHER AFFILIATIONS AND MARTIAL ARTS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME AT AIKIDO DERBY. We belong to KYU SHIN KAN, whose main Dojo is based in Leicester, under the instruction of Peter Brown Shihan, 6th Dan so Hombu. We are always working to promote Sharing Aikido with Mutual Heart, and regularly visit other Dojo and Sensei to LEARN and SHARE Aikido. This includes regular visits to Japan, to train at Dojo in Nara, under the guidance of Kubota Ikuhiro Shihan, 8th Dan so Hombu, Nara Aikikai. We also have links with Sawada Toshiharu Shihan, 7th Dan so Hombu, Kimori Dojo, Nagoya. ALL GRADINGS are recognised by the AIKIKAI HOMBU DOJO, Tokyo, Japan, which is the Founder of Aikido’s Dojo

Aikido is a Japanese Martial Art created during the 1920s by Morihei Ueshiba (1883~1969), an
expert who reached the highest level of mastery in the classical Japanese Martial Arts. Aikido is
performed by blending with the motion of the attacker and redirecting the force of the attack
rather than opposing it head-on. Aikido has not competition. The goal of Aikido training is not
perfection of a step or skill, but rather improving one's character according to the rules of nature..
Aikido training is intended to promote physical and mental training, according to the proficiency
level of each skill and repeatedly practice so anyone can practice. Aikido training is not only good
for health, but also develops self-confidence naturally for daily life. The dojo is a ideal place to
deepen the understanding of the human eye, to meet people regardless of age, sex and

Courses at Aikido Derby with Peter Brown Shihan(everyone welcome to attend) 0 Sunday 12th November     17:00-20:00, £10 KSK Instructors Courses at Secular Hall, Leicester (everyone welcome to attend) Sunday 3rd December 10:30-12:30, I will be visiting Kubota Ikuhiro Shihan in Japan this October, to Practice  and Study Aikido, and maintain building Bridges with Nara Aikikai. Classes will be running as normal during this time Jay 8)
